"Luca is an internationally appreciated denim finishing developer, he brings 20 years of sound experience gained there where the universes of fashion design and textile engineering collide. Through his consultancy agency Blue Alchemy he advises brands and retailers on how to improve the quality and aesthetic of their products.

At the beginning of this century, Luca took his first professional steps as a finishing engineer and pioneered some early technical applications that made their mark in the developing Italian, premium denim scene. The role of R&D manager at progressive organizations gave him the opportunity to develop an extensive global network which then propelled him to the next level as creative director for premium fashion brands.

Currently, Luca has established himself as an undisputed creative mind that is uniquely driven by a deep, technical knowledge of garment finishing. During the last decade, because of both market demand and a personal passion, he has added an additional layer of expertise and established himself as an unquestionable reference when it comes to conscious approaches, processes and products for sustainable garment finishing, production and sourcing.

He has interacted and developed for brands such as AG (Adriano Goldschmied), Citizen of Humanity, Hugo Boss, Levi's and Big Star. A reference figure for sustainable approaches, processes and products for the finishing and production of garments, Luca currently collaborates with UNIQLO and the Fast Retailing group developing all the manufacturing processes for their important sustainable production project.

The endless quest for the reduction of water, energy and toxic chemicals used in denim and beyond is what gets him out of bed every morning…”
